Review

The JBL Quantum 100 is a wired Over-Ear gaming headset with a frequency response of not less than 100 Hz and up to 10,000 Hz. The headphone is compatible with PS 5, PS 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC Gaming, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, Mac, and Virtual reality.

It is worth mentioning that you won't hear yourself if you speak into the Quantum 100's mic as it is simply a one-way mic, and it does not feature sidetone capabilities. However, if your gaming platform offers sidetone or mic monitoring, then you will hear yourself.

Also, in some cases, the mic may not work automatically on a PC, and you might need to get a headphone splitter so you can plug in both the headphone and mic jack separately. But this won't be necessary if you're to use the JBL Quantum 100 on a smartphone.

Review

The VersionTECH GE002 is an all-white over-ear wired gaming headset that is designed with gamers and fancy PC owners in mind. It has a speaker size (aka driver) of 50mm and will cover your ear to eliminate background noise and give you an immersive experience.

One of the most spectacular features of the GE002 is its wide array of compatible devices. You can use the VersionTECH GE002 with Playstation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, Laptop, PSP, Mac, Android devices, and Xbox One. This is possible because its connectivity options include a USB and a 3.5mm aux port.

Another thing worthy of note about these headphones are the cream-colored LED lights on the back of both drivers. They look really cool if you're gaming in a not-brightly lit environment. However, the LED lights won't come on if you're using the aux cord. They only work when the headset is connected through the USB port.

3. Razer Kraken X Ultralight Gaming Headset (‎RZ04-02890300-R3U1)

Another of the wired headphones on this list is the Razer Kraken X. It features a bendable cardioid microphone, is capable of surround sound, and features integrated audio controls on its drivers. Although it is an affordable headset as well, it is the most expensive headphone on this list up to this point.

Razer is an award-winning high-performance gaming peripherals and Blade gaming laptops manufacturer that is focused on building the world's largest gamer-focussed ecosystem of hardware, software, and services. According to Razer, the company is built by gamers for gamers. Hence we're not surprised that it's maintained a 4.5-star rating on major stores and customer review sites.

Although the Kraken X is a fine headset, its cord is not detachable. While many people may not see this as an issue, undetachable cords may pose problems if the wires get disconnected and should be replaced.

One of the headphone's super features is what's called positional audio. Using a headset with positional audio gives an edge because you won't only hear sounds, but you'll also be able to tell which direction it's coming from. However, this feature is only supported on Windows 10 64-bit.

4. SteelSeries Arctis 7 - Lossless Wireless Gaming Headset

If you detest wired headphones, then the SteelSeries Arctis 7 might be something made for you. This headphone is designed to work perfectly both for gamers and for regular users, and it sports a beautiful plastic body that is painted in a mix of black and white.

Review

The SteelSeries Arctis 7 is one of the two wireless headphones featured on this list and it comes with some awesome features. In case you were wondering, it doesn't use Bluetooth. Instead, it uses Arctis' 2.4G wireless connection for lossless and ultra-low latency audio.

You can forget about background noise when using this headset as it features Arctis' ClearCast bidirectional mic for superior noise cancellation. One other thing we love about the headset is its 24-hour battery life.

Now, you can charge once and play games for as long as you want within the next 24 hours. And if you forget to charge it, you can always opt to use the 3.5mm aux port for a wired connection.

Although this headphone is compatible with PC, PS 4, PS 5, Mac, Nintendo Switch, and mobile, its wireless connection can only work on PC and Playstation 4. You will need to use the aux cables to connect it to other devices.

  • Headset jack: USB
  • Compatibility: PS 5, PS 4, PC, Mac, laptop
  • Other features: Adjustable headband, comfort earmuffs, noise cancellation, RGB light, headband padding

Review

The Nivava K12 is designed for gamers who love the vibes that come with RGB lights. However, because the headset only comes with a USB port for connectivity, it's only compatible with PS 5, PS 4, PC, Mac, and Laptops. But if you have an Xbox and are really interested in this headset, you can get a 3.5mm audio adapter to get them working together.

The Nivava K12 is advertised to have an omnidirectional mic that cancels background noise. But while it cancels most indoor noise, they can still make it through if they're loud enough. Also, the mic is rotational, but it's not detachable.

6. ZIUMIER Z66 White Gaming Headset with Microphone

Didn't like the Nivava K12? You can have the Ziumier Z66 White gaming headset for a few more bucks. The Ziumier Z66 is a headset that's built for gaming and is designed to give you an immersive experience all the while.

  • Other features: Adjustable spring plate headband, comfort earmuffs, noise cancellation, LED lights, headband padding

Review

What first called our attention to this headphone is the number of people singing its praises. Then we looked it up and it's actually cool.

One of the things we noticed early was Ziumier's attempt at making something durable. The Z66's headband is made with a stainless steel spring plate so that it doesn't break even when it's bent or twisted.

This headset can be connected to a PC or console through 2 ports — the USB port and the 3.5 mm aux port. The aux port will work for audio and mic alone, while the USB plug will power the lights.

One thing we find disturbing about this headset is the length of its cable. The cords are unnecessarily long, and you might find them somewhat difficult to manage.

7. Corsair VOID RGB Elite Wireless Premium Gaming Headset

Another option for those who want a wireless gaming headset with RGB lights is the Corsair Void RGB Elite. Corsair launched the Void RGB Elite in September 2019 to compete with other entry-level wireless gaming headphones, and it has gotten thousands of positive reviews from buyers.

Review

The Corsair Void RGB Elite wireless premium gaming headset is an on-ear headset with large 50mm drivers that should fit around your ears completely and comfortably. Its large and comfy drivers coupled with its immersive 7.1 surround sound bring you fully into the world of the game you're playing.

Some of the amazing features of the Corsair Void RGB Elite include its low latency 2.4GHz wireless connectivity with up to 40ft of range, the custom-tuned 50mm high-density drivers, and its built-in battery which can last long hours of gaming on a single charge.

Although Corsair advertised the Void RGB Elite's battery to be able to last up to 16 hours, we were able to get about 17 hours and 30 minutes of continuous playing from it at a fairly high volume. You'll definitely get more than that at a lower volume.

8. SUPSOO Letton L17 Gaming Headsets

Finally, we have the Supsoo Letton L17 — a wired over-ear gaming headphone that's compatible with several consoles, PC, Mac, and Mobile phones. One of the features we find fascinating in this headphone is its sweat resistance feature.

  • Other features: Adjustable headband, sweat resistance, comfort earmuffs, noise cancellation

Review

The Supsoo Letton L17 comes in a mixed color of white and purple. It features a 3.5mm jack with 4 poles which connects its speakers and mic through a single aux port. This 3.5mm jack makes it compatible with multiple platforms, including the new Xbox One.

The Letton L17 only comes with a 3.5mm jack and that makes it incompatible with most iPads and iPhones. To use it on an iPad, you'll need to get a 3.5mm USB converter. Also, to get both the speakers and the mic to work on PC, you'll need to get a splitter cable so you can plug the speakers and the mic in the appropriate ports.

Conclusion

The headset you get to go along with your gaming PC means a lot, and it could be the difference between you winning, losing, or having a good time gaming. When choosing a gaming headset, consider the sound quality to get the best experience and also consider the build so you can use it long term.
