Funny how article was supposed to be written in 2020 but the comments are from as far back as 2018. Plus tablets are not recent models at all. Seems like that date was changed to make it appear recent. No one wants a tablet running Jelly Bean.
They all are extremely outdated.
How does it come, that the tablet designers never use their tablets?!
I have the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1-Inch) and it’s over 4 years old. I have never upgraded the firmware since I have owned the thing. It’s still running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and I am wondering if someone knows about the Firmware well enough to answer the following questions i have:
Can the Galaxy Tab 2’s running 4.2 Jelly Bean be upgraded?
Should the Galaxy Tab 2 ” ” ” ” ” ” ?
If I should upgrade from JB 4.2 , how do I determine how high I can go? (when I know that answer, then I want to know)
If I must forgo the upgrade(s) in small increments until I reach the highest version available to me? (or)
Can I just go from JB 4.2 (to) (whatever the highest available version is for this Galaxy Tab 2) all at once?
Will I need to connect my Tablet to my computer via the USB cable to to the upgrade? (or)
Do I have any other alternative methods I can consider to do the upgrades?
If I have no alternative and I must use the USB cable to upgrade will I have to install the Kies software to do it?
Note: I hope I don’t HAVE to use KIES Software because when I tried to install KIES back in 2017 to sync my Galaxy S2
smart phone to my computer, I ran into KIES software having compatibility problems installing on my Dell pc
running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit (without sp 1) So I was forced to abort that plan. Since I am still using the
same version of Win 7 Ultimate, then I can only assume I still can’t use KIES software, thus meaning I’m again
up against a brick wall. Having said all that, and after asking all my preliminary questions, is it possible I’m just
thinking too much and if my Galaxy Tab 2 – 4.2 Jelly Bean is still working fine after so long a time, should I quit
trying to fix it IF IT AIN’T BROKEN? I need some advise? I hope someone can help me get a perspective on my
thought process. I would really appreciate it. Thank You for reading this.
Thank you for sharing this information. It was useful and interesting. I am looking to buy a tablet so this could be really useful for me.
