She went into remission in 2020, but in Decatur, 2021, after she was involved in a race car crash, her cancer returned and metastasized to the bone. She had to spend more days in the hospital for her treatment.

Alicia's health deteriorated in February 2023, and her husband, John Schneider, honoring her wishes, brought her home for hospice care. Her loved ones were present with her for the next six days until she breathed her last on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at 53.

She is survived by her husband, John R. Schneider, who called her "My Smile"; her daughter, Jessica Ann Dollard (Daniel Turner), who she was very proud of; parents, Michael and Linda Marino Allain; brother, Brandy Michael Allain; grandmother, Doris Crutti Marino Alvarado; step-daughter, Karis Schneider (Justin); and granddaughter, Sierra Schneider.
