The 8 Best Laptops for Data Science and Data Analysis in 2023
  1. Abdelmgeed

    nice review thanks
but I would be appreciated if you list it the needed specifications for data analysts laptop such as “processor, gen., RAM, …., etc.) apar from laptop recommendations to search upon them and customize based on my budget

  2. James

Thank you for this. I am thinking about taking my first steps toward pursuing a data analytics career after exiting the work world for a while to raise my young kids. I was just researching last night different computers. This came at the perfect time!

  3. John Doe

Yes. Pretty dumb to not talk about GPU. We want details of the tech required for big data sets. Lots of RAM is good obviously, but what else? Right of the back the writer whines about ” no extra bloatware”. As powerful as computers are today, that is not really an issue, and you can uninstall or install fresh like most poweusers usually do. Anyways, it is such a superficial complaint that this becomes funny.

But to everyone screaming. It is not some stupid conspiracy. It is freelance writers probably that write these articles and most of them do not really know any of this. But we keep clicking on these for some reason.

  4. John

What kind of idiot recommendations are these? Your model will train 100 times faster on GPU than it will on CPU. Literally 100 times faster. That’s the difference between two hours and less than 90 seconds. A Macbook has no meaningful GPU, and Nvidia dropped CUDA support on OSX over a year ago. So why in heaven’s name would a Macbook of all things be #2 on the list? My guess is that it’s because the list is complete hogwash and they want that juicy commission from Amazon on the most overpriced hardware available, but it’s quite literally the worst hardware you could possibly select for the job.

  5. Bill

    Ridiculous article.
None of their recommendations has enough scientific computation power.
    Personally I would suggest
    – 2019 Macbook pro 16 inch, 8 core, >32GB ram, 4TB ssd
    – XPS 15 7590, 8 core, 32GB 2TB ssd

  6. x

The article was “Last Updated On : 16th January 2020”, where the mac pro 15inch wasn’t available anymore at that moment.. processors also seem outdated..

  7. Ted

None of these computers are good for statistics or big data. My six year old hp is better than everyone that you’ve listed here. You actually have laptops here with less than 32 gigs of memory! Wtf is wrong with you people? And i-5 processor? Why not just tell people to buy a calculator.

    Ridiculous article.

    1. Subrata

Ted, would you suggest a laptop that would be adequate for heavy statistical analysis and big data? If not a brand/model, a hardware spec such as processor, RAM (at least 32 GB?) SSD size and others? Thanks.

  8. Edward Tashihira

Option 1 : MacBook Pro 15″ with quad core I7, 16 GB RAM (Apple just now upgraded this, but disappointing. I was hoping for 32GB + Broadwell)
Option 2 : MacBook pro 13″ with dual-core I7, 16GB RAM (Apple updated this machine and is very decent in terms of portability and computing power)

  9. Omar El Omeiri Filho

Well, I have a Macbook Pro 15″ mid 2018 and i just cant put up with heavy machine learning. It has less than 2 years and the T-CON board has fried from overheating due to poor design. Shame on you apple. This is completely unacceptable for such a high priced computer. It is the most expensive toilet paper i’ve ever bought.

    1. Stephen

Donc d’après toi, aucun des récents produits de apple n’en vaut la peine pour le traitement des méta données ???
