My highest ever adsense earning in a single day

I use google ads here on binarytides.com to monetize the blog. On 18th dec 2012 got my highest earning in a single day. The figure was around $48.

Most of the traffic came on the article on making a simple game in html5. I posted this article on hacker news and reddit. On hacker news the article made to the main page within 30 minutes of posting. However it could not persist for long and slowly started sliding down.

On reddit it was posted in the gamedev section here. Did not get quite a lot of upvotes but did get some decent amount of traffic in 12 hours.

Some of the important observations are

Since most of the traffic was from the US the cpc was good, once again confirming that US visits fetch a higher average better cpc in adsense compared to other locations.

Inspite of most of the traffic being referral the ctr was good enough as compared to other days. It is believed that referral traffic is generally ad blind or use ad blockers. However here I could see a difference.
